Halt on the Gravy Train

We made it a year of nursing my little chunky mama, and now the gravy train will come to a complete stop.  Am I sad?

No, no no

Nursing is hard for me, and for the past 3 months I have been noticably lopsided due to her preference to only nurse on the left side.

For the past couple of weeks we have only been nursing at night, and now that shes one, even though she got oh so mad at me last night, no more gravy, sorry baby girl, the teeth are getting a liiitttlee large.  

Anyway, John and I woke up last night at 3:30 am to her sitting in the middle of us clapping! Yes, trying to play patti cake.When I laid her back down, she started to scream.  Gravy train began flowing for about 10 seconds in my delerium, and then I remember.......trying....to.....wien. Then she got mad, screamed, and gravy train again began. 

I will get better, I promise!

Surgery and Birthday Weekend

Thanks everyone for the prayers, the surgery went well - one HUGE complaint I had with surgery center, which I will elaborate on in a sec.  So, ENT said her ears were infected in the inner ear, blood and thick pus pored out, and that it was a good thing we did tubes because the antibiotics werent touching it.  

Anyway, when we got the surgery center at 6am, met with the nurses, I told them she was a hard stick.  I showed them the only vein an IV has ever been able to be started on, and said you might want to go ahead and call in the best nurse.  Blew me off, and said there was never any baby they werent able to get.  Ok, thanks, great.  Little did I know that they meant they would dig in her arms, feet and hands until they found one.  Friday night I was giving her a bath and she was fussing when I touched her hands and feet.  They tried to start the IV 9 TIMES! Bruising and IV marks.  Ok, so now I am so mad.  They took her before they put her to sleep because they did so with gas in the back before starting an IV.  I dont care though if she was asleep or not, you dont try 9 times to start an IV, and dig to the point that there are quarter sized bruises all over my babies hands feet and arms.  Oh, annnnd guess which vein they got her IV on? The one I showed them.  Ok, rant over. I have filed an official complaint with surgery center, and we have finished.

She has started talking wayyy more in the past 48 hours and things are going well!  So Sunday we went ahead and had her little easter egg hunt bday party! We had a great time, the weather was beautiful, and she is doing well!! 

Losing 2 body parts gaining 2 tubes

Well, its official Tubes in, Adnoids out on Friday for our little almost one year old bundle of joy. 

I am totally at peace with it...and hoping that our weekly pedi appointments will be nil.  

I mean, I love our pediatrician, but would rather not see her once a week, especially when it is because I have a sick baby and our yearly deductible has not yet been met....its only March, even though we are danggerously close.

Hoping the surgery will bring a better quality of life to our little girl, and make her ears, nose throat etc calm down with the snot and infection infestation.  They say its a 15 minute surgery, and Im hoping they are true to their word! 

Prayers would be appreciated for all!

Little Stinker

Gianna had another epic antibiotic explosion yesterday all over me, herself, carseats, car, etc.......

We were going to an appointment, but instead headed to the house. 

I went to go give Gianna a quick clean up bath, and myself a cat bath until the hubby came home.  

John Gary had asked me on the way home if he could have some icecream. 

I said sure. 

When I came out of the bathroom 1 minutes later I found this........Complete with fork....

Little Stinker!

Bad Mom??

We went out to eat with my 83 year old grandma and 93 year old grampa yesterday.  Mind you, my grampa takes care of my grandma who can no longer drive, walks with a cane, and is diabetic.  They are the sweetest people you would ever meet, generous, love God and until about 3 months ago went to daily mass for like 20 years. 

Something my grandma said yesterday bothered me a little and I shouldnt of taken personally.  She said 

"people ask me if your baby has shoes."

Huh?

Yes, she just doesn't keep them or socks on, she pulls them off......

She smiled Sweetly, and laughed. 

I think this is a MAJOR hint

Now, since she only gets out once a week and can barely hear because she forgets to put her hearing aid in, I really wonder how many people who have said this to her at the church. 

But, she isnt walking yet, and if its less than 30 degrees outside I promise to put on socks, well more like 50.  

I love baby feet, they are preecccious! And i have about 500 one sock matches from the ones we lost.....

Mystery Patch

After several diarrhea diapers, carseat blow out, 12 new outfits (ok not that many) and 4 baths, we made it to work at a whopping 3pm.....

Gianna was feeling better, and she stole the succor in the above pics from her brother who loves her very much, and put it in the precise location where she could get it. I walked out of the room to get a pen (literally .2 seconds) and came back to find this.  

About an hour later, I looked at her face and saw a patch of red, it looked like ringworm.  

I touched it, wasnt sticky but rough. 

Well, since we still dont know which ailment had haunted her the past week, I was looking for every little thing that pop up on her to try and figure the mystery out. 

Now, my mom, hubby, coworkers, were all looking at the patch and diagnosing the problem.  It stayed there, until we got into the bathtub.  

There must have been dirt, or something that had stuck to the succor spot, because when i wiped her face last night it miraculously disappeared. 

So, illness is still a mystery....but happy shes feeling better.:)!
