Gianna will be 10 months in about a week, and she still does not crawl.
Now, John Gary met his major milestones normally a couple of weeks early, which led to a very proud mama, thinking i was just doing a great job.
Well, now my once self esteem driven child rearing has turned into.....is there something wrong with my kid?
Now pedi says "she is a little late, but she can sit up good"
Does not make me feel better.
She does not like being on her stomach and will, eh eh eh eh ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh and begin doing the monkey scream ahhhhhh until I pick her up.
Any suggestions?
I think I can I think I can |
She is strong enough as we have maintained the position above for several seconds at one time.
But most of the time, this is her preferred means of being.
Puff anyone? |
I do lay on my stomach like a beached whale trying to encourage her, but she is not very impressed with MaMa crawling, or anyone else for that matter.
She would much rather sit there and play with a piece of fuzz, food, or a combination of both.
5 second rule? Right?
Hahaha, but at least she is sooo cute on her tummy! Maybe she'll just start running around the house one day?
ReplyDeletewell, with magdalena walking and running at 9 months of age i did everything to DIScourage early milestones even picking up Eilah whenever she tried to stand- I made her wait until a good 14-15 mos before she was finally mobile. Don't worry about it. Gianna will do what she needs to in her own time. I say let her lay.
ReplyDeleteHappened upon your blog by way of Camp Patton, and let me say I feel your pain! My little guy waited a full 13 months before he crawled... leading me to 34 useless pediatrician visits and many fruitless hours of googling 'developmental delays' and the like. He started walking a full month before he would crawl, and now he's a pro in both mobile mediums... go figure.
